Over $27,000 is set to go to charity thanks to nearly 2200 locals and visitors pounding the pavement at this year’s 7 Rocky River Run!

Raising funds to address youth mental health issues and the prevention of youth suicide, 7 Rocky River Run 2021 saw participants running, and walking their way around Rockhampton’s Riverbank course enjoying a perfect Sunday morning for a good cause.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said the funds raised for both R U OK and Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland are made possible thanks to the participants and sponsors.

“We are so proud to be making a sizeable donation to both R U OK and Ronald McDonald House,” Mayor Williams said.

Seven Queensland Sales Director, Greg Gabel, said “The local media organisation looks forward to continuing its sponsorship of the event”.

"Seven Central Queensland has welcomed the opportunity to work closely with Rockhampton Regional Council’s Advance Rockhampton team in a collaborative effort to increase visitation to central Queensland with an event that is much-loved and brings great benefit to the local community,” Mr Gabel said.
