Rocky River Run – Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive an event shirt?

Event shirts are included for the first 2,000 registered participants.

Shirt allocation is based on registration order and sizes are subject to availability.

Shirt exchanges may not be possible once allocation is exhausted.

Can I transfer my entry to another person?

Yes, entries can be transferred to another person up to 30 days prior to the event through Race Roster.

To do this:

  1. Sign into your Race Roster profile
  2. Select the Transfer option
  3. Follow the prompts to complete the transfer

Please note:

  • Transfers made more than 21 days before the event incur a $10 admin fee
  • Within 21 days of the event, the fee increases to $15

All transfers are self‑managed through Race Roster. If you encounter any issues, please contact support@raceroster.com.

Can I downgrade to a shorter distance?

Yes, you can downgrade to a shorter distance.

To do this:

  1. Sign into your Race Roster profile
  2. Select the Transfer option and follow the prompts to change your race distance

Please note:

  • Downgrades made more than 21 days before the event incur a $5 admin fee
  • Within 21 days of the event, the fee increases to $15
  • Any price difference will not be refunded

Can I upgrade to a longer distance?

Yes, you can upgrade to a longer distance.

To do this:

  1. Sign into your Race Roster profile
  2. Select the Transfer option and follow the prompts to change your race distance

Please note:

  • You will need to pay the difference in entry fee
  • Upgrades made more than 21 days before the event incur a $5 admin fee
  • Within 21 days of the event, the fee increases to $15

I can’t attend. Can I get a refund?

We do not offer refunds under any circumstances unless you opted for the Enhanced Refund Protection Program during registration.

To request a refund under this program, log into your Race Roster registration and follow the refund process.

If you purchased Enhanced Refund Protection and are experiencing issues, contact Race Roster at support@raceroster.com.

Do I need to collect a race bib?

Yes. All participants must collect their race bib during the official bib collection times prior to race day.

  • Saturday 16th May: 9:00am–4:00pm
  • Sunday 17th: 7:00am–8:15am (2km/5km)
  • Location: Customs House, 208 Quay St, Rockhampton QLD 4700

There is no bib collection available on race morning for the 10km and 21km events.

Can someone else collect my bib?

Yes. Someone else can collect your race bib on your behalf.

They will need to bring a copy of your race confirmation email when collecting your bib.

Can I collect my race bib on race day?

Race bibs must be collected during the official bib collection times and can only be collected on race morning for the 5km and 2km events.

There is no bib collection on race morning for the 10km and 21km events.

Are prams permitted on the course?

Prams are permitted in the 5km and 2km events only.

For safety reasons, prams are not permitted in the Half Marathon or 10km events.

Participants with prams must start towards the back of the field.

Are bikes and scooters permitted on the course?

No. Bikes, scooters, rollerblades and similar equipment are not permitted.

This policy ensures the safety of all participants.

Are the courses wheelchair accessible?

NEEDS TO BE CONFIRMED: Yes, the courses are wheelchair accessible, however some sections may present challenges depending on conditions.

If you plan to participate in a wheelchair and require assistance, please contact the event team.

Will there be event shirts?

Event shirts are included for the first 2,000 registered participants.

If the allocation is exhausted, shirts may not be available.

Where is the start line located?

All races start and finish within the Rocky River Run race precinct along the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton.

Detailed maps and race day information will be provided in the Competitor Guide.

Will there be road closures?

Yes. Temporary road closures will be in place on race day to ensure participant safety.

Will there be water stations on the course?

Yes. Water stations will be available along the course for all distances.

Locations will be detailed in the Competitor Guide.

Will there be a bag drop?

Yes. A bag drop facility will be available at the race precinct on event morning.

What happens if the race is cancelled?

If the event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organiser’s control, entries will be rolled over to the following year’s Rocky River Run.

Participants will be notified with further details if this occurs.

Will I receive a medal?

Yes. All participants who cross the finish line will receive a finisher medal.
